Friendly, comfortable town centre Hotel centrally situated to enjoy this lovely Town with easy access to Dartmoor National Park
Lovely countryside inn, nice old building, large (family) room, great surroundings, nice town
Bathroom below par, taking a shower was a challege because you have to sit down in bath and shower spray was very weak indeed.
Helpful and pleasant staff.Lovely village.
Parking difficult, as it is everywhere in Dartmoor.Be prepared for church bells!
Good pub, wonderful food, friendly welcome .The manager made us feel very welcome.
The waitress at breakfast could have been a little more friendly, felt as if we were interrupting her cleaning,
The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was lovely and spacious and the hotel itself is ideally located within the village.
The only downside was our showerhead didn't seem to be working properly so we had to use the bath only- we didn't report this as we were only there a short while and I'm sure if we did the staff would have sorted it promptly.
I have stayed at 41 in London which costs over £350 per night - the rooms in this hotel are on par with this!
Shower was quite poor.
Very comfortable with modern decor in the room we stayed in. Very convenient for exploring Dartmoor and the staff were friendly and helpful
Very welcoming, helpful, friendly staff on arrival and in the evening and at check-out.The room was very clean and spacious , bathrobes provided.Books in the room and a book-swap facility is available .....great if you have run out of reading material.Totally enjoyed our stay.
A bit chaotic at breakfast......waited over 30 minutes from ordering, then most orders seem to have got mixed up....still had to remind staff that we were still waiting for coffee and toast,as did other people.....about 40 minutes by the time everyting arrived......still,always liked "Fawlty Towers" ,so no complaints!!!!!!
Location and the quality of the rooms, staff were very helpful.
The hotel is in a fabulous location and very handy for Dartmoor. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was very spacious and well appointed.
Unfortunately there was no over bath or free standing shower - no biggie just what I prefer and our room was a little cold (old buildings + howling gale) but this was soon rectified with a portable heater.
the food and service
no double bed had to have a put up double which was uncomfortable?
Nice rooms, good bar and friendly staff. Good location in village
Convenience of the location for what we wanted to do - the quality of the evening meal was very good - the general appearance of our room (Willow) - lovely en-suite.
The bar was rather raucous in the evening which spoilt the ambience of the Dining room. The tv in our room was not working properly and obviously had not been checked or reported by the previous occupants. The breakfast was very disappointing: cheap sausages, fried - rather than local produce grilled. I didn't get what I asked for and we were served coffee at the beginning which meant there was none for the end and we weren't offered refills.
Location and price. Good food.
Didn't like the absence of advance notice of the local talent evening which took place on our first night.
Fantastic location in Chagford with easy access to moors and country walks. Nicely decorated room with suitable facilities.
Staff not very friendly or attentive. When arrived for breakfast in morning no milk, no attempt to re-fill, couple next to us had large caffitiere of coffee, we had tiny one between two of us and was not offered re-fill. When came to pay bill staff busy talking and didn't attend to us until prompted.
